Employers and jobseekers will be brought together in east Bristol next month at a jobs fair. The event has been organised by Conservative Prospective MP Theo Clarke.
The fair, at the Vassall Center in Fishponds on January 30, will also have special free sessions on CV writing, interview techniques and debt advice. Among the employers attending are local and national firms.
Theo said it was vital to bring employers and jobseekers together to showcase what is on offer.
She said: “Unemployment has gone down across Bristol in the last year but that may not be much comfort for anyone who has been seeking a job for a long time, as well as younger people trying to get their foot on the jobs ladder.
“This event will bring a wide range of employers together under one roof to showcase as wide a range of opportunities as possible. We will also provide one to one CV training and a zone where jobseekers can find out more about apprenticeships or joining an SME or startup. As a small business owner myself, I am keen to promote the next generation of entrepreneurs in Bristol and to help students to find the right career for them.
“I want to ensure that jobseekers give themselves the best chance to gain employment so the interview training and other workshops will also be highly useful.”
