Ms Clarke was featured in The Times today. The piece criticised the Health Secretary (West Streeting) for failing to act on promises made in the wake of the APPG on Birth Trauma's report launch in May. Ms Clarke noted that all requests for a meeting with Mr Streeting had been rebuffed, and that the Government has not committed itself to implementing any of the report's recommendations.
Ms Clarke has called on the Health Secretary to:
- Commit to all recommendations committed to by the previous Government; and
- To appoint a dedicated Commissioner on Maternity Safety who would be answerable to the Health Secretary and Prime Minister.
