Theo Clarke MP for Stafford has raised repeatedly with the Digital Minister, Matt Warman MP, the need for people in Staffordshire to have better rural broadband. Therefore, Ms Clarke is pleased that the Government has announced a £5 billion broadband upgrade, improving connectivity and broadband speed for 76,300 rural homes and businesses in Staffordshire.
The £5 billion Project Gigabit fund is upgrading digital infrastructure for millions of people in hard-to-reach areas to accelerate the country’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and to promote high-growth sectors such as the technology and creative industries. Bringing the speed and reliability people need to start and run businesses. This upgrade will also increase reliability and connectivity to rural homes across Staffordshire.
