Theo Clarke MP for Stafford planted a tree with students from the school council at Flash Ley Community Primary School in Stafford. Ms Clarke was delighted to plant a tree to mark the Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee and she was pleased that her fellow Staffordshire MPs have joined her in this initiative. This means that all twelve Staffordshire constituencies will have had a tree planted by their MP in honour of the Queen. The trees will form part of The Queen’s Green Canopy which is a unique initiative to increase the number of trees and woodland throughout the UK and across the Commonwealth.
Theo Clarke, MP for Stafford:
“I am delighted to plant a tree at Flash Lee School in Stafford to mark the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee. This tree will provide fresh fruit for local students as well as forming part of The Queen’s Green Canopy linking trees across the Commonwealth and protecting the environment for generations to come.”
“I am pleased that my Staffordshire MP colleagues have joined me in planting a tree for the jubilee, celebrating this important occasion across our county. I also wish to thank the Lord Lieutenant’s office for their help in supporting this project.”
