For Holocaust Memorial Day, Theo Clarke MP for Stafford, signed the Parliamentary memorial book in memory of the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust. Ms Clarke paid tribute to the survivors and thanked the Holocaust Educational Trust for the work they do in Stafford schools to ensure that this atrocity is never forgotten.
The Holocaust Educational Trust was established in 1988 and aims to educate young people from every background about the Holocaust. The Trust works in schools to raise awareness and understanding of the Holocaust and provides teacher training, an outreach programme for schools, teaching aids and resource material. Holocaust Memorial Day is marked on 27th January each year, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
