Theo Clarke MP for Stafford was pleased to start her Industry and Parliament Trust fellowship. Ahead of World Book Day, Ms Clarke visited HarperCollins as her first official visit of the fellowship. During her visit, Ms Clarke had a meeting with the Chief Executive of HarperCollins, Charlie Redmayne. Ms Clarke spoke with the Chief Executive about the importance of improving literacy in Stafford. Ms Clarke also met with the Executive Team at Harper Collins and discussed freedom of speech and copyright law. By visiting HarperCollins Ms Clarke gained deeper insight into the publishing sector.
Ms Clarke’s Industry and Parliament Trust fellowship will focus on the contribution of the creative industries to the economy. Prior to becoming an MP, Ms Clarke founded a business in the creative sector, therefore, this fellowship will allow Ms Clarke to gain further experience and understanding in this area. The Industry and Parliament Trust is a charity that provides a platform of engagement between Parliament and UK business. Their fellowship programmes are designed to provide Parliamentarians with unique insight into business and industry. Ms Clarke looks forward to completing her fellowship on the creative industries over the next 18 months.
