Theo Clarke MP for Stafford was delighted to meet with the duty crew at Stafford Fire Station. Ms Clarke held a discussion with the team about tackling flooding in Staffordshire. Having raised this matter multiple times in Parliament, Ms Clarke was interested to speak with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service about their flooding response, particularly for rural areas across Staffordshire.
Having previously met with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue at Cannock Chase, Ms Clarke raised again the importance of preventing fires on the Chase. Ms Clarke regularly visits Cannock Chase and will continue to work with the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Forestry England to protect the Chase as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for all Staffordshire residents to enjoy.
During her visit to Stafford fire station, Ms Clarke thanked the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Tim Hollingworth, the Station Manager for Stafford and Rising Brook, for all that they do as emergency responders in Staffordshire. Ms Clarke also spoke with the team about attending road traffic accidents across the constituency and the best fire safety practices to help protect local Staffordshire residents. The Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service also discussed with Ms Clarke their Safety Plan for 2020–2024. This plan outlines Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s priorities for protecting Staffordshire by building on previous plans and recognising future challenges.
