Stafford MP Theo Clarke today led a delegation from the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Birth Trauma to St. George's Hospital, Tooting. The delegation comprised the two co-Chars (Theo Clarke and Rosie Duffield) and one vice-Chair (Bell Ribeiro-Abby). They toured the maternity units, asking questions and speaking to midwives about how they go about their jobs on a daily basis. The delegation then discussed maternity-related issues with senior maternity staff including the Managing Director of the NHS Trust.
Ms Clarke commented: 'I visited maternity services at St. George's Hospital NHS Trust as part of our Birth Trauma Inquiry to see their Fetal Medicine Unit, Bereavement Suite, and Early Pregnancy Unit. Our inquiry will report on the 13th of May with recommendations to the Prime Minister'.
