Theo Clarke MP was delighted to hold a round table event with members from the Staffordshire National Farmers Union (NFU) and the Rt Hon Liz Truss MP, Secretary of State for International Trade. Participants from the NFU reflected the wide variety of farming that takes place across Staffordshire and the UK as a whole. The Secretary of State listened with interest to the farmers' hopes for the future of British farming and she discussed in depth the new Agriculture Bill and trade opportunities for farmers.
Theo Clarke MP said:
“I was delighted to welcome Liz Truss to the constituency as it is vital that post Brexit the British Government supports our local farmers in Stafford. I will continue to lobby on their behalf to ensure that we maintain high standards in any future new trade agreements. I was keen for the Secretary of State to get some difficult questions and our local farmers didn’t disappoint.”
