I am deeply honoured to have been elected as the Member of Parliament for Stafford. I can’t wait to get started to represent you and this beautiful part of the country in Parliament.
First of all, I would like to thank my fellow candidates for a good campaign. Secondly, can I thank the Returning Officer, and all the counting staff, for their hard work over such a long night and also the local police.
Like any candidate, I could not have done this campaign on my own and so I would like to thank my family, friend and members and activists of Stafford Conservatives, for all their support over the past few weeks and, for some of them, years.
Finally, I would like to put on record my personal thanks to Jeremy Lefroy, our previous Conservative MP. Jeremy has been a tremendous champion of Stafford which was apparent when I knocked on doors across the constituency. In Parliament, Jeremy was a great advocate for constituents and become particularly known for his work on international development supporting the world’s most vulnerable people.
Thank you to the people of Stafford for putting your trust in me and I promise to work hard to deliver on the priorities which I set out in my election campaign. I will always ensure that Stafford’s voice is always heard and represented in Westminster.
Thank you to you all, and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
