Theo met with the Secretary of State for Transport, The Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP, today to discuss the ongoing review of HS2.
Theo raised with the Secretary of State for Transport in Whitehall the concerns of Stafford residents, especially in the villages that are set to be affected by the proposed route. The Secretary of State updated Theo on the current status of the government's review and has pledged to set up a specific meeting for Theo and his senior departmental advisors to discuss Stafford's concerns further.
Whilst Theo is supportive of increasing rail capacity and further investment in the West Midlands and the North West, she remains concerned that Stafford constituents continue to be adversely affected by the current HS2 proposals.
As your MP, Theo will continue to advocate for an alternative approach to increasing rail capacity.
